Laurena S. Berkman is of Counsel at Hodenfield Law Firm. Ms. Berkman focuses on commercial real estate, finance and land use. She also has experience in commercial litigation and direct marketing and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining Hodenfield Law Firm, Ms. Berkman worked on a diverse set of commercial real estate matters including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, development and financing. She has experience representing developers on various matters related to large residential community projects. Ms. Berkman also has experience drafting organizational, conveyance, and loan documents, as well as conducting due diligence reviews for various other real estate transactions.
Ms. Laurena S. Berkman is also an adjunct professor at the Antonin Scalia Law School (formerly George Mason University School of Law). She has taught Legal Research and Writing classes in both the JD and JM programs.
Formerly an elected criminal trial judge and federal prosecutor, she’s also a London criminal defense attorney with a deep understanding of the criminal justice system. Board certified in criminal law by the London Board of Legal Specialization, Ms. Berkman successfully tried thousands of cases in hundreds of jury trials.
She have been rated A-V by Martindale-Hubbell, and she have been on the Martindale-Hubbell list of Bar Preeminent Lawyers for over 13 years.
Ms. Kyle was featured in London Monthly Magazine 2003-23 and named one of the “Best Lawyers in London” by New Law Journal. She is also a frequent guest on both local and national television programs that deal with criminal law issues.
